The story behind
Sailing Alisios.

How it all
started.

Sailing Alisios exists because one person grew up on the water and wanted to share it. No business plan, no big idea. Just a life shaped by sailing and a feeling that other people might want to experience it too.

So we opened it up. Now we welcome people on board who have never sailed before. Within a day or two you find your place on the boat, settle into the rhythm, and something shifts. It happens every time. It's a big part of why this exists.

What we stand for.

A man sitting on a boat, smiling, with mountains and water in the background during what appears to be sunrise or sunset.

Connection

Everything begins with the people. Guests arrive as strangers and leave as crew. Conversations go deeper than they do on land. Something about being at sea together just does that.

Person looking down, blurred, near a body of water with mountains and a moon or sun in the sky.

Intentional Exploration

We don't plan for the sake of planning. The wind decides a lot. What we can control is the pace. Slow, curious, no particular rush.

A large marine animal, likely a whale, surfacing in the ocean with water splashing around it.

Respect for Nature

The ocean is our home, not a backdrop. We anchor away from protected areas, keep the boat clean, and leave places the way we found them. The sea gives a lot. We try to take as little as possible.

Meet Your Captain

Smiling young man in a yellow vest, wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sandals standing on a dirt path in a grassy hillside area with other people nearby.

Joaquin grew up between Mallorca and the Canary Islands, on the water from the age of five. His family has run ECC Yacht, one of the leading sailing charter companies in Spain, for nearly three decades, so this isn't something he picked up later. It is his life. Fixing boats, learning the systems, out there year round until it all became second nature. He knows where to anchor, where to hide from bad weather, and which cove is worth the detour.

The Atlantic crossings started because he had to do them anyway. Friends came along. They loved it. More people wanted to come. Without realising it, the trips shifted from something he did to something he shared.

That’s really where Sailing Alisios comes from. It’s not about following a fixed route or sticking to a plan. It’s about being out there with someone who knows these waters inside and out, and trusting that the best parts of the trip are often the ones you don’t plan for.

Meet the Crew

Every trip has expert guides. And every crew is different. A chef joining for the Balearic sun. A second captain when two boats head out. The people who make it more than just a sailing trip.

Your home on water.

We sail boats from the ECC Yacht fleet — one of Spain's leading sailing charter companies. Modern and well-maintained, in the 48 to 54ft range. Comfortable for up to ten guests, with shared cabins, shared bathrooms, and a full kitchen on board. Enough deck space to sunbathe, eat together, and watch the sun go down without anyone feeling on top of each other.

The kind of boat where living on it for a week feels easy.

Sound like your kind of people?
